Intralytix is seeking a Formulation Technician to work at our company headquarters in Columbia, Maryland. The successful applicant reports to the Manufacturing Manager to meet company goals and manage day to day activities. This individual understands and executes most fundamental techniques focused on Mfg. solid dosage formulation, and associated Process Development.
Required Skills & Technical Expertise:
- Experience with spray dryers, bin blenders and oral solid dosage required.
- Experience with nutraceuticals a plus.
- Fermenters and filtration techniques a plus.
- Responsible for time management with regard to fundamental duties.
- Investigates and troubleshoots simple technical problems during normal operation where feasible. Informs supervisor of problems and any action taken.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Will operate, clean, disassemble and reassemble spray drying and blending equipment in accordance with applicable SOP's.
- The candidate will also prepare solutions and formulations for subsequent drying and blending.
- Candidate would also be expected to support fermentation needs of the Mfg. department as dictated by sales and partner forecasts.
- Uses computer to read, review and train on SOPs.
- Builds productive, trusting, respectful relationships at all levels in the organization and must consistently act as a team player.
- Works independently with minimal supervision or in a group setting.
- Follows Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned or as business needs require.
Supervision:
- Receives overall project direction from supervisor, able to carry out most day to day techniques with limited supervision.
- Reviews new assignments with supervisor. Routinely consults supervisor at the start and completion of a set of experiments.
Education & Previous Experience:
- Associates Degree in Biotechnology or B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical engineering, Biology, Life Sciences or related field.
- 1 year or more of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry or academia a plus.
- The ability to work in team-oriented environment is essential, as this person will work with other members of the Manufacturing, Process Development, and R&D groups as required.
