Intralytix uses a core technology based upon bacteriophages.
Discovered early in this century, bacteriophages are the
naturally-occurring predators of bacteria, killing them with high
selectivity, specificity, and efficiency. Examples of commonly important
targets controllable by bacteriophage include Salmonella,
Campylobacter, Listeria, E. coli H7:0157, vancomycin-resistant
Enterococci, and multidrug-resistant
S. aureus. Intralytix has been/is bringing phage
technology to the cutting-edge biotech level, by:
 | using phage
technology and expertise from eastern European and former Soviet Union
countries. |
 | applying modern scientific approaches to better understand
phage biology and phage-bacterial cell interactions, and |
 | utilizing
modern, state-of-the-art, biological processing technology.
|
On a more
general level, the value of lntralytix lies in its ability to identify and
characterize desirable bacteriophages, to produce and formulate them
into products targeted toward specific applications, and to integrate
them into commercial processes and products.
