Torrey C. Brown, M.D.
Dr. Brown received his BA from Wheaton
College in Wheaton, IL, in 1957, and his M.D. degree from Johns Hopkins
University, Baltimore, in 1961. Dr. Brown has extensive experience
in new biotechnology product development and in bringing novel
technologies to market. Dr. Brown is a former
CEO and current chair of Family Health International, a well known,
not-for-profit contract research organization that provides expertise in
the design and management of clinical studies for FDA approval
internationally. In addition to biotech expertise, Dr. Brown was an
elected Delegate to the Maryland Legislature for 12 years and served as
the Chairman of the House of Delegates, Environmental Matters Committee.
Dr.
Brown is a former Assistant Dean at the Johns Hopkins Medical School, and
currently holds an Associate Professor appointment at the same University.
Dr. Brown was among the founders of Intralytix and has been the company's
President and CEO from 1998 to 2001. Dr. Brown became the Chairman of the
Board of Intralytix in the fall of 2001.
